Immortals Mobile Joins North American Clash Royale League
LOS ANGELES (April 3, 2018) – Recently launched Immortals Mobile is poised to enter its second mobile esports title less than one month after formation. As announced earlier today by game publisher Supercell, Immortals will be one of eight franchises to compete in the North American Clash Royale League starting in August 2018.
“Supercell is thrilled to have Immortals among the eight teams launching the Clash Royale League in North America,” said Tim Ebner, head of esports for Supercell. “Immortals shares Supercell’s commitment to fostering a positive gaming community that is open to everyone and we look forward to seeing their roster compete.”
Unique within esports, the Clash Royale League Challenge allows the eight North American teams to select from a centrally created pool of players in order to complete their rosters in a pro-am format. Players selected will join established Clash Royale teammates on these eight teams as they prepare and compete in the fall season with the goal of securing a spot in the World Finals in Winter 2018.
“What Supercell is doing with the Clash Royale League in North America speaks volumes about the direction of mobile esports,” said Immortals CEO Noah Whinston. “By establishing the Clash Royale League Challenge, Supercell is giving everyone the opportunity to become an esports pro. This speaks directly to one of Immortals’ core beliefs: esports are for everyone.”
“Every team is on a level playing field when it comes to building out its roster,” remarked Immortals Mobile GM Jeff “SuiJeneris” Chau. “Players who complete the Challenge are given exposure to professional teams for scouting, and ultimately, the chance to become a professional esports player. What an incredible opportunity for those who thought becoming a professional esports player wasn’t possible.”
Immortals Mobile also announced Joshua “ah craaaap” Sharon as the first Clash Royale player signing to the Immortals Mobile team roster. Joining Sharon on the team is veteran Clash Royale player-turned head coach, “TrainerLuis.” Both players represented Immortals at SXSW on the gaming stage in March.
