After our previous Smash manager moved on to pursue exciting academic opportunities, Immortals has been searching for his replacement. It’s important to us to maintain competitive infrastructure for all of our teams, and Smash is no exception. After searching high and low, we’re pleased to announce that we’ve found our new manager. Please join us in welcoming Mike “Typo” Bassett to the #IMTeam!
Typo has a long and storied history in competitive Smash, dating back to when he played and recorded 1-player mode records in Super Smash Brothers Melee. After a seven year sabbatical, he returned to the Melee scene in 2015 and quickly established a reputation as a controller technician for professional Melee players. (In fact, you might recognize his work from ANTi and Shroomed’s custom controllers!)
He’s since served as a co-owner of Mute City Customs, bringing controller repairs and services to vendor booths at major Smash tournaments around the US. While working at Immortals, he’ll continue to study business at William Paterson University.
We’re committed to providing our Smash players with all of the tools they need to achieve their long term goals, and we’re confident Typo will be a great partner in their careers.
