Today, leading esports organization Immortals announced its entrance into professional Vainglory, signing the former roster of Hammers Velocity and a new coach:
Davis “Vains” Giang
Laurent “Aloh4” Ortega
Riley “DNZio” Haghian
Coach: Jeffrey “SuiJeneris” Chau
This roster, which finished top 4 at the 2016 Vainglory World Championships, represents Immortals’ fifth highly-ranked competitive team and their foray into the rapidly expanding world of mobile esports. “With esports on the rise, mobile esports is a promising vertical, more readily accessible to the average fan. We’re big fans of the game of Vainglory and the work its developer, Super Evil Megacorp, has put into its esports structure.” said Immortals CEO Noah Whinston about the acquisition.

The roster is one of the longest standing in Vainglory, with players that are committed to improving through dedication and growing together as a team, instead of through constant roster changes. It was that competitive drive and hard work that brought the team to Immortals’ attention. Noah Whinston explained: “This roster has already reached great competitive heights. They’re young, hungry, and have a full year of built-up chemistry with each other. We’re looking forward to helping this team rise even higher by investing in their growth and performance both inside and outside of the game.”
The roster’s competitive drive will be supplemented by Vainglory’s first full-time coach, former Vainglory player Jeffrey “SuiJeneris” Chau. One of the most respected, mature, and professional faces in Vainglory, SuiJeneris will be taking his talents behind the scenes, building effective practice habits, strategic knowledge, and structure for the young and talented Immortals squad.
“I’ve been in talks with lots of organizations and teams, but I liked [CEO] Noah Whinston’s approach. Immortals’ mission is to be uber-competitive and to focus on the well being of their players, and they mean it.” said SuiJeneris. “They really wanted a team that had the chemistry and synergy to be together long-term. For Immortals, it wasn’t just an investment; it was a dedicated commitment to the support they would offer the team. That really impressed me.”
The Immortals Vainglory roster now prepares to represent the organizations on the Halcyon Fold, Vainglory’s field of battle, for the start of the Vainglory competitive season in March.
